Fall is finally here and what better way to celebrate than to bake your favorite pumpkin bread. I needed some new pumpkin bread recipes, so I asked my friends to share their favorites with me. Just for fun, five different recipes were stirred and baked with love and I asked eight moms; Jill, Erin, Kathy, Kelli, Beth, Cindy, Cheryl and Stacy to enjoy a slice or two and submit their votes to help me find the BEST PUMPKIN BREAD RECIPE winner.
Here are the results:
If your home is on the market, Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread is the one you want to bake right before your house is viewed. It smells absolutely wonderful! A traditional pumpkin bread with rich pumpkin flavors and melts in your mouth.
In fourth place we have a very simple recipe that has been around for sometime and suggests adding raisins. Raisins may be a good choice for most bakers but I prefer to sprinkle the top of the muffins with mini chocolate chips before baking. When scooping the batter into the mini loaf pan spray a measuring cup with canola oil; it will prevent the batter from sticking to the measuring cup making it easy to measure and pour.
Prefer just a hint of chocolate with your pumpkin and want an easy recipe to whip up at the last minute? The Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Bread from Taste of Home is for you.
If you prefer walnuts in your pumpkin bread, this very moist pumpkin bread is the one to print and add to your recipe binder. Stacy loved how the pumpkin flavor really stands out and she appreciated the balance of pumpkin and spices.
And the winner is my all-time favorite pumpkin bread recipe enjoyed many times in my home by family and friends. Pumpkin Chocolate Loaf makes a perfect gift for family, friends, teachers and the mailman during the holidays.
