| Free

Join the Soddy-Daisy Community Library for our 2022 WILD Summer of Reading program! You’ll find great recommendations, you can earn a free WILD t-shirt and tie-dye it, meet some amazing authors, and go WILD during our 3rd annual literacy night and movie in the park!

Summer Reading Recommendations – We’ve created lists of great books, chosen by a panel of librarians, educators, and book industry professionals, for kids PreK-12 AND Adults as well.

Summer Reading Program – Earn a great WILD t-shirt just for reading – adults too! Just download the appropriate Reading Journal, read the required number of books, turn in your completed journal, and the shirt is yours – along with the chance to tie-dye it! Journals will be available Friday, May 27 on FB and our website, www.TheSDCL.org. Turn in your finished journals between July 18 and August 5, 2022. Shirts will be available for pick up August 19 – 26 at the SDCL, and also during our literacy night.

Free Book Fridays – Each Friday between June 3 and August 5, during regular hours (11a – 4p), come into the SDCL to pick out a free book to keep for your own personal library – adults too!

Summer Author Events – We’ve added a new element to make this summer even wilder. We have 11 different authors visiting your SDCL, ranging from children’s picture books to adult mystery/thriller authors.

The WILD Night of Literacy and Movie in the Park, Saturday, August 20, 2022 – It’s time to take a walk on the WILD side, with free activities, games, a scavenger hunt, performances, and more! After the event, it’s going to be a WILD night as we watch Jumanji! The event is family-friendly and free. Further details are to be announced.

Let’s make 2021 a WILD Summer of Reading together!
