There is nothing more timeless than going to afternoon tea. Whether it’s with your children, spouse, or friends, bonding over tea and finger foods in a classy environment is sure to create some special memories.
When I went to London, my friend took me for afternoon tea at Swan which is part of Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre overlooking the Thames River — it was an amazing experience. Though we may not have the history of London surrounding us here, Chattanooga has its own beautiful rich history, as well as some amazing tea rooms.
Mountain Oaks Manor
I first heard of Mountain Oaks Manor in Ooltewah when a friend liked their post about their Christmas Candlelit Tea. I decided to take my husband there for a Christmas date night! Located in the old James County Courthouse (Ooltewah was part of James County until 1919), Mountain Oaks Manor provides an elegant and historical location to partake in this traditional experience. Homefront Tea Room at Tennessee Valley Railroad

Beyond The Garden Gate

I had not heard of this tea room until recently, but the beautiful photos of their food, tea, and their location, along with their highly rated reviews, have convinced me that I will be paying them a visit soon! Beyond The Garden Gate is uniquely located in the Mercantile at the Ridge, so you could conveniently shop for antiques after enjoying some tea. Follow their Facebook page for more information!

I have not been to this tea room, but it appears to be located where Polly Claire’s used to be on Adamson Circle. Unfortunately, their website states that they are in the process of moving locations, and the address of the new location will be updated soon. Keep your eye on their website for an announcement of their new location.
