When the mood strikes, not much can beat a juicy, delicious hamburger. Thankfully, Chattanooga is FULL of burger joints that hit the spot. Chattanoogans take their burgers very seriously, so when I was doing my research for this post, I got a lot of passionate answers regarding which burger is the best.
Best Burgers in Chattanooga
Tremont Tavern
This little gem is one of my favorite Chattanooga establishments. The food is delicious, the crowd is eclectic, and the atmosphere is so fun. MANY Chattanoogans chimed in to say that the best burger can be found here, and my husband wholeheartedly agrees. His personal favorite is the Gouda burger, but their menu is long and extensive. You can find all kinds of delicious burgers to meet your needs. If burgers aren’t your thing, their Philly cheesesteak is to die for, and I crave their chicken tenders weekly.
Urban Stack
Urban Stack is another popular place with burger lovers. Their menu consists of any burger you can imagine, and the location is great. It’s in the Southside, so you’re just a hop, skip, and jump away from the Choo Choo, Warehouse Row, and all kinds of cool shops and stores.
1885 Grill
Several people said that the 1885 burger was their favorite, so I had to mention this spot. 1885 Grill has the same owners as Tremont Tavern, so it would make sense that they have great burgers! This little restaurant can be found in St. Elmo. They have a great outdoor seating area, so it’s a great option in the warmer months. You can cross the street and get Clumpie’s or Mr. T’s ice cream for dessert!
Universal Joint
This burger spot can be found right off the campus of UTC. The building is cool because it used to be a car garage. They still have the rollback doors that open up wide in the milder months. If you’re hitting up any events at UTC, this would be a great spot to eat at before or after.
Scottie’s on the River
Scottie’s isn’t a burger joint, but if you want a beautiful view of the river and a good burger, you can find both here! Sea lovers and land lovers alike will be happy at Scottie’s. You can’t beat the location, and it’s a great spot for people watching.
Armando’s
Armando’s is a Chattanooga stable with multiple locations. So many friends said that they had their favorite burger, and no matter where you’re located in the Tristate area, there’s an Armando’s nearby!
Slick’s Burgers
Another Chattanooga favorite is Slick’s Burgers. They are located in the Southside on Main Street, and they have all kinds of cool burgers on their menu. This is another great spot for outdoor eating and people watching.
Main Street Meats
Housed in a local butcher shop, this restaurant serves the freshest burgers Chattanooga has to offer. Located in the beautiful Southside area of downtown, you can make this part of a great date night lineup.
