As 2023 is coming to a close, it’s time to think about the start of 2024. If you’re a parent, gone are the days of ringing in the new year with a night on the town. Even though it can be hard to party with little ones in tow, that doesn’t mean you can’t celebrate as a family. Here are some local events that everyone can enjoy as you ring in the new year.
Chattanooga New Year’s Eve Family Events
Creative Discovery Museum’s Cheers to the New Year (December 30th at 6pm) – Ring in the New Year at the only New Year’s party in town designed specifically for children and families! Families will have fun creating New Year’s clocks at Creation Station, making noise makers in the Make It workshop, painting fireworks with forks in the Art Studio, and helping Father Time countdown to the New Year, complete with bubble wrap fireworks and apple juice toast. Join us as we say goodbye to 2023 and hello to 2024!
New Years at Noon (December 31st from noon to 4pm) – Join us in welcoming the New Year with a day of family fun at CDM! From 12-4 p.m., immerse yourselves in a world of excitement as General Admission guests delight in a magical photo opportunity, create dazzling straw sparklers, and embark on a winter adventure in our Temporary Exhibit Gallery brimming with activities for all ages! Plus, don’t miss our special apple juice toast to send heartfelt well wishes for a fantastic 2024. It’s the perfect way to celebrate together as a family!
Bridgeman’s Chophouse – Ring in the New Year at Bridgeman’s Chophouse with your closest friends and family for our full menu with special New Year’s features.
Tennessee Valley Railroad New Year’s Eve Dinner (December 31st at 5pm and 9pm) – New Year’s Eve Dinner train trip includes a four-course dining experience onboard restored dining and pullman cars. The excursion trains depart from Chattanooga’s Grand Junction Station at 5pm and 9pm, traveling at a leisurely pace through portions of urban East Chattanooga before reversing direction and returning to Grand Junction. The travel time is just right for a complete meal on a vintage dining car.
Ice on the Landing – Ice on the Landing is holding holiday hours on New Year’s Eve from 10am to midnight.
Southern Belle Riverboat – You can catch an early dinner cruise for the family on New Year’s Eve or one at 9pm to help you welcome 2024!
Rock City Enchanted Garden of Lights – You can enjoy a stroll through the beautiful lights of Rock City to help you ring in the new year.
Chattanooga 2024 New Year’s Eve Celebration – The City of Chattanooga is hosting the official 2024 Chattanooga New Year’s Eve celebration on Dec. 31, 2023 starting at 8 p.m. The free event will take place at the intersection of Broad Street and Aquarium Way, featuring live musical performances by The MaleMen Show Band and Strung Like A Horse with support from DJ LV in partnership with SoundCorps, supporting Chattanooga musicians and music ecosystem. The 2024 Chattanooga New Year’s Eve party will feature a light show, confetti, a New Year’s countdown tower, food trucks, drink vendors, and more.

New Year’s Nightmare – One of Chattanooga’s most well known haunted houses, Dread Hallow, is opening for this special event on December 30th and January 6th.
The Read House – Ring in the new year at The Read House’s New Year’s Eve Roaring ’20s Party with overnight accommodations, tickets to the party, and much more!
