SDCL Halloween EEKstravaganza!

Get ready for a spooktacular celebration as the Soddy-Daisy Community Library, with proud platinum sponsor Team Scheeres Legacy Fund, invites the community to the Halloween EEKstravaganza! Join us on Saturday, October 26, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the beautiful Soddy Lake Park for an afternoon filled with frightful fun and festive activities.
This year’s event promises an array of vendors and food trucks, offering a delightful mix of eerie shopping and delicious treats. Community nonprofits will also be present to share valuable information and services. Vendors, food trucks, and nonprofits are encouraged to sign up by Friday, October 18, at 4 p.m. to be part of the excitement.
Entertainment will abound with street performers roaming the park and an EEKxotic petting zoo from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. To capture the spirit of a classic hometown festival, we’re excited to host an EEKcellent Pie Baking Contest at 3 p.m. and an EEKciting Chili Cookoff from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. A free Game Zone, sponsored by Woodmenlife, will provide fun and spooky prizes throughout the event. Additional sponsors include David Casteel State Farm and the City of Soddy-Daisy.
No Halloween celebration would be complete without a Trunk or Treat! This popular attraction will run from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., marking the fourth year of this cherished tradition. “Trunkers” wishing to participate must register by Thursday, October 24, at 6 p.m. Media representatives are warmly invited to join us for the festivities.
To cap off the evening, a free movie will be screened at 8:30 p.m. on a massive 36-foot screen, sponsored by the Tennessee Valley Authority. Get ready for a film that’s sure to leave you wondering, “What’s this? What’s this?” Food vendors will be available for the first half-hour of the screening.
