More than ever, after being forced to enjoy months of family time at home, we have been wanting to get out of the house and do something. My youngest has gotten into the habit of pointing out any playground that we drive by and saying, “That’s probably not open…” We are so ready to get back into normal life, or as normal as we can safely get back into!
Our afternoon trip to Pinspiration was a little breath of normalcy we have been craving.
The staff works hard to balance the safety of their guests with the fun of hands-on creativity they offer to kids and their parents. It is a wonderful place to take a child for some one-on-one time or to meet up with a friend or two for a structured and creative playdate.
Read on to hear more of what Pinspiration has to offer for your family:
I took my four boys, between the ages of nine and three, for an hour in the splatter room where each of them made freestyle canvas art to hang by their beds. The splatter room is one of the most popular activities at Pinspiration. Each customer starts with a blank canvas and can decorate it beforehand with tape (to make white space after peeled off) and/or different colors on the canvas. Afterwards, the boys suited up in protective suits, booties, goggles and shower caps, and went into the splatter room to fling paint at their canvases. I am telling you, there can’t be a kid on the planet who would not enjoy throwing paint on a canvas, the walls or their siblings! They had a blast! Alexa was also available to play dance music to inspire their “art.” Afterwards, they shed all the gear and, aside for their hands, only the three-year-old had a few spots of paint on his nose. The store will hold wet canvases on drying racks or give you some newspaper to keep the paint off your car on the way home.
I love easy, enjoyable, and mess-free fun and this met all of my preferences!
The splatter room and other craft projects aren’t just for kids though. Couples can come in the evening for a date night craft project or splattering, and enjoy drinks served up at the bar as well. The party room can be used for corporate events or for a fun twist on baby or wedding showers. Themed birthday parties are available with options to include food and crafting assistance help, so parents can be hands off and enjoy the activities with no stress.
Pinspiration has lots of plans in the works including distance learning days and sensory sensitive hours for guests who need a slower or quieter pace. Their craft projects are constantly changing with the seasons, and almost all projects are available on a walk-in basis. It is a wonderful place to take a kid who enjoys the freedom and creativity found in crafting, with the convenience of everything they will need and none of the mess. My artsy seven-year-old is already scheming about when he is going to get to go back.
