With the area’s small town and nature-loving feel, it was the perfect choice for my husband and me when we were deciding where to live when moving our family to the Chattanooga area last year. It is a very short commute to downtown Chattanooga (20 minutes) and boasts tons of things to do for families.

Since our move, I have been compiling lists of things to do and places that we love in hopes to one day make a post of all the things Ooltewah and Collegedale have to offer. This is the list I wish I had had when we first moved to Ooltewah.

Ooltewah and Collegedale offer so many options when it comes to dining. Of course, we have your typical fast food chain restaurants off the main Lee Highway exit, but if you venture deeper you will find some true gems.

Parks and Recreation

There is no shortage of ways to take in nature here in Ooltewah and Collegedale. This is just a short list of a few of the ways to get in time outside with the family.



My children are not yet in public school, but when they do get to that point, Ooltewah offers many great schools. They also have several great preschool options. Collegedale even has their own college if you would like to continue your education close to home.

There is no shortage of healthcare options in Ooltewah and Collegedale. I have listed a few of our favorites, but there are many more great options.

There is so much to love about the Ooltewah and Collegedale areas of Chattanooga, Tennessee. They have everything to raise a happy and healthy family in a thriving community.

  1. And they now have a full vegan menu as well. Took the family back yesterday and it’s still the best in our area!
