‘Tis the season for produce! If you’re looking for a fun family outing this spring or summer, “pick-your-own” farms are the perfect solution. This is a great chance for little ones to learn about where our food comes from while you reap the benefits of picking delicious produce. The greater Chattanooga area has some great places to get started!
Chattanooga Area Pick-Your-Own Farms
Smith Perry Berries Farm is a Chattanooga stable in Ooltewah. They are famous for their sunflower fields, but they offer spring and fall produce as well. They sell strawberries, sweet corn, sunflowers, and pumpkins. They also have special events during the fall. (pre-picked only for now)
The Blueberry Farm is a great option for our North Georgia friends. It’s located in Lafayette and has something for everyone! After you pick your produce, you can enjoy a picnic while your kids play on the playground. They sell blueberries and muscadines.

LCC Strawberry Farm is another great spot in Rome, GA. You can check their Facebook page for regular updates on their crops.
Ramhurt Strawberry Farm is located in Chatsworth, GA. Specializing in strawberries, their season is in full swing right now.
Even though it’s in Blue Ridge, GA, I can’t write this post without mentioning Mercier Orchards. This beautiful farm is the perfect place for a day trip. There’s a café and storefront, plus you can pick your own fruits in their huge orchards. They offer tractor rides across their grounds, which your kiddos will love. According to what’s in season, you can pick strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, and apples. They are known for their apples in the fall.
