Winter has arrived, and one of the most fun winter activities for the whole family is ice skating. While Chattanooga may not have a permanent ice skating rink, that doesn’t mean you can’t find some within a short driving distance from the city.
Ice Skating Spots Near Chattanooga
Ice on the Landing – This is Chattanooga’s one and only ice skating rink. With a new location this year at the First Horizon Pavilion, this outdoor rink is holding its winter season until January 28th.
The City of Fort Oglethorpe Ice Skating – Winter Skating November 18th thru January 31st with their new 3,200 square foot Glice rink. Concessions will be available. Holiday music will be playing. All of this will take place at the Stable 41 Farmers Market location at 214 First Street, Fort Oglethorpe, GA 30742. Advance tickets are available on-line along with more information.
Cool Sports – This indoor rink in Knoxville offers hockey, ice skating, and birthday parties! Since it’s a couple of hours away, you can make a day of it and explore everything Knoxville has to offer!
Centennial Sportsplex – This popular spot in Nashville offers ice skating all year long! Nashville is another great city to spend the day in. It’s full of fun activities for the whole family!
Ford Ice Center – If you’re a Nashville Predators fan, then this is the place for you! This rink belongs to the professional hockey team, but they are open to the public throughout the year. Enjoy skating like a pro here!
Ice Chalet – This is another popular spot in Knoxville. They offer ice skating, hockey, curling, lessons, and skating school.
Ober Gatlinburg – This winter village in Gatlinburg, TN offers ice skating year round. This indoor rink is a popular spot for everyone visiting the beautiful Smoky Mountains.
Wilderness at the Smokies – If you’re staying at Wilderness of the Smokies during the holidays, you can enjoy their outdoor skating rink while you’re there. It’s not just for guests — it’s open to the public, too!
The Rink at Park Tavern – If you’re feeling up for a drive to Atlanta, you can enjoy the Rink at Park Tavern. It’s located in Piedmont Park, and offers cabanas, fire pits, and food for your enjoyment.
The Atlanta Ice House – This Atlanta hockey rink offers ice skating to the public.
Skate the Station – This is another rink located in Atlanta. Located in Atlantic Station, this rink runs through January 16th. There is a restaurant on site to feed your hungry skaters!
