Chattanooga Easter Events {Roundup}


Chattanooga is a happening city, and the time leading up to Easter is no egg-ception. (Hold your applause and/or groans until the end, please.) Whether you are new to the community or you are a Chattanooga Easter veteran, here at Chattanooga Moms Blog, we are so excited to help you plan the best Easter yet! Check out the following guide to fun Easter celebrations in and around our beautiful city, and remember to bring your own Easter baskets to egg hunts!

Chattanooga Easter Guide

Hamilton Place Mall Easter Bunny Photos

March 5 – March 26

Tennessee Valley Railroad Bunny Train

March 12, 19, 20, 25 & 26
Times: 10:40am, 12:05pm, 1:15pm, 2:25pm

Hop Aboard for a new adventure: The Bunny Train! Trains will depart from Grand Junction and travel toward East Chattanooga where passengers will disembark for special activities.  Storytelling, temporary tattoos, coloring pages, goody bags…and a chance to meet our big bunny!  Bring a camera and take your child’s photo with the Easter Bunny. Tickets are $22 for everyone age 2 & up.

Helicopter Easter Egg Drop

March 19, 3:00pm to 6:00pm
Harrison Recreation League Ball Fields

Inflatables, carnival games, minute to win it games, food trucks, and tons of candy! At 5:15pm, tens of thousands of plastic eggs, filled with candy, will be dropped from a helicopter onto a grass field. After the helicopter has safely left the area, kids will then be allowed onto the field to collect eggs! For safety reasons, kids are divided up into age groups. Ooltewah United Methodist Church

Eggstravaganza is a fun filled event for the whole family with games, an egg hunt, inflatables, food, and more.

The Gray Dove’s Easter Egg Hunt

March 20, 2:00pm to 5:00pm
The Gray Dove, 6408 Snow Hill Rd., Ooltewah

Free Easter egg hunt with prizes, games and petting and feeding various animals! Local vendors will be participating with concessions, boutique clothing, jewelry and other items available for purchase. Pictures with a live bunny and chicks by Brooks Marie Photography! Includes: three digital photos for $15. (Cash or check.)

Hunt to Can Hunger

March 25 at 4:30pm
Hamilton Family YMCA on Shallowford Rd.

The goal of this year’s “Hunt to Can Hunger” event is to collect 1,500 pounds of food for those in our community affected by hunger. There will be activities for all age groups, including egg hunts and a bouncy house. The egg hunts begin at 5:30pm and will include 15,000 Easter eggs for children to collect. There will also be a special appearance by the Easter Bunny for photos and fun. Festival activities provide fun for the children between egg hunts.

Chattanooga Zoo’s Hug-A-Bunny Day

March 26, 10am to 3pm

Hug-a-Bunny day is a spring celebration for all ages! Guests will have the chance to get their photo made with the Easter Bunny, enjoy springtime games and crafts, gather Easter eggs, watch as our Zoo animals enjoy their egg hunt enrichment, encounter the Zoo’s real bunnies, and more!

Adults $8.95, Children $5.95, Ages 2 and under free
Admission is free for Chattanooga Zoo members

Family Egg Hunt at Ridgedale Baptist

March 26, 10am to 2pm

Petting zoos, carnival games, door prizes, lunch, and golden eggs are only a few of the things you will find at this fun family event! Egg Hunts will be at 11am and 1pm! Event (including lunch) is free.

Easter Bunny Breakfast Cruise on the Southern Belle Riverboat

March 26, 9:30am to 11:00am

This breakfast cruise includes a visit from the Easter bunny, a magic show, coloring sheets, pilot house tours and a one-time-through buffet-style breakfast featuring scrambled eggs, sausage links, biscuits and gravy, pancakes, fruit, orange juice and coffee.

Easter at Coolidge

March 27, 9am
Coolidge Park

Free face-painting and puppet shows for the kids • Free coffee and donuts for mom and dad • Praise and worship music in the park • And of course, an egg hunt of over 100,000 Easter eggs! This event is FREE for the whole family. The egg hunt begins at 9am but be sure to arrive early to set up your lawn chairs in the park and take part in the other fun activities! Live music will begin around 9:30am on the main stage.

Easter Luncheon Cruise on the Southern Belle Riverboat

March 27, 1:00 to 3:00pm

This two-hour cruise includes live music, pilot house tours, a visit from the Easter bunny, and a one-time-through buffet-style lunch featuring chicken Wisconsin, scrambled eggs, ham, sausage gravy, buttermilk biscuits, sausage links, hash brown casserole, macaroni and cheese, orange juice, sweet tea, coffee.
