The Chattanooga Zoo is ushering in a new exhibit for the holiday season. The Asian Lantern Festival has transformed the zoo in a magnificent sight! A spectacular celebration of art, culture, and the beauty of traditional Asian lantern festivals, this is one of the most unique holiday light display in the Chattanooga area.
I was able to visit the light display, and I must say, it was beautiful! The lanterns were larger than life, and the colors were spectacular. The path of lights leads around the entire zoo, and while the animals aren’t technically on display for the event, we were able to see several milling about. There were illuminated swings for kids to play on, interactive light stations, and more fun throughout the zoo. Both food and drinks are for sale on site, so you can come hungry!
The Asian Lantern Festival will be running now through January 15th from 6pm – 10pm. Zoo members get a discount on tickets. While Chattanooga has some spectacular holiday light exhibits, this unique display was a breath of fresh air! Make sure to add it to your calendar… it’s definitely worth the visit.
