There’s something special about finding a destination that feels far away without requiring a long day of travel, and our stay at Cloudland at McLemore Resort in north Georgia was exactly that. With only a 35-45 minute drive time from downtown Chattanooga, it is the perfect quick getaway for a romantic weekend or even a relaxing girls’ trip.

Outside McLemore ResortFrom the moment we arrived at Cloudland at McLemore Resort Lookout Mountain, the mountain views stood out. The property overlooks Lookout Mountain with scenic cliffside views and plenty of spots to sit and take it all in. Sunset at the resort was one of the highlights of the stay.

Lookout MountainOne of the things we loved most about McLemore Resort was how many beautiful places there were to simply sit, unwind, and enjoy the scenery. Whether relaxing outdoors with a morning coffee while overlooking the mountains or escaping inside to the cozy library spaces, there were countless spots throughout the resort designed for slowing down.

The meal was exceptional from start to finish, with beautifully prepared dishes, an inviting atmosphere, and impeccable service that made the evening feel truly special. Every course felt thoughtfully curated, blending elevated flavors with comforting Southern hospitality. It was the kind of dinner experience you continue talking about long after the trip is over. The resort also offers additional dining options like Croft where we enjoyed breakfast, lunch, and an evening cocktail.

For golf lovers, playing at The Keep at McLemore was unforgettable. The course is absolutely stunning, with dramatic cliff-edge holes and panoramic mountain views around every turn. Even if you’re not an avid golfer, just walking along and taking in the scenery is worth it. The Keep has quickly become known as one of the most memorable golf experiences in the Southeast, and after seeing it in person, it’s easy to understand why.

The spa experience was another favorite part of the trip. After a day of exploring and relaxing outdoors, spending time at Selah Spa was exactly what we needed. The treatments, calming atmosphere, and peaceful relaxation spaces made it feel like a true retreat. The infinity-edge pool was equally impressive: heated, relaxing, and perfectly positioned to take in the mountain scenery.

Eighteen years ago, I moved to Knoxville after graduating college and fell in love with the city that has now truly become my home. Shortly after moving here, I married my college sweetheart, and when not working we set out to travel as much as we could. After working as a financial manager for six years, I welcomed my first son Nolan in 2010 and began a journey as a stay-at-home mom. Two years later we added another baby boy, Conley, to make us a family of four. In June 2016, we welcomed our third boy, Foster. I founded Knoxville Moms in November 2013 which began my career as a work-from-home mom, and it grew to the expansion of Chattanooga Moms in March 2016. We welcomed our first girl, Lilah, in November 2017 making us a family of six and adding a little pink in our house. In June of 2021, I became co-owner of Atlanta Mom and in March 2022 the new owner of Nashville Moms. When I'm not chasing the kids or stepping on Legos you can find me enjoying a cup of coffee, reading a good book, and dreaming about my toes in the sand. I enjoy meeting new people and love to connect the moms of Knoxville, Chattanooga, Atlanta, and Nashville.
