A Guide To Chattanooga Breweries

Spring is in the air, and Chattanooga is ready to show off its vast collection of breweries! While we are known as the Scenic City, we are also finding our place on the map for our homegrown brewing. Whether you’re looking for a good spot for date night, a family evening on the town, or a girls or guys night, Chattanooga has you covered when it comes to breweries.

Chattanooga Brewing Company: The oldest, and perhaps most famous, brewing company on our list, Chattanooga Brewing Company is known for its unique beer and yummy food. If you’re out of town and glance at a beer menu, I bet you’ll find Chattanooga’s own on the list! Located next to Finley Stadium, this is a great spot to hit up before cheering on the UTC Mocs.

OddStory Brewing Company: This is a 21+ establishment, so save this spot for date night! Located on East MLK Blvd., they offer indoor and outdoor dining. Their open, community-style tables are great for large groups and studying students alike.

Naked River Brewing Company: This hot spot sits just on the other side of Finley Stadium from Chattanooga Brewing Company, so it’s another UTC favorite. They have a beautiful patio area to enjoy during the warmer months.

Wander Linger Brewing Company: Located in the heart of downtown, this spot is another great option for indoor and outdoor seating with a live music schedule. Read our full review here from a few years ago.

Mad Knight Brewing Company: This brewery is located in the historic St. Elmo neighborhood, just down the street from the Incline Railway. While their main focus is wholesale, they do have a taste room for you to enjoy!

Hutton and Smith Brewing Company: This brewery has an open taproom you can visit seven days a week! It is a 21+ establishment. You can choose to sit at their bar across from where the brews are being created or in an adjoining room with more seating and shuffleboard. I suggest eating before or after because bar snacks are the only food available.

Heaven and Ale Brewery: This Chattanooga staple has weekly events and a calendar full of fun for you to enjoy while you taste their menu!

Five Wits Brewing Company: This brewery has a large collection with a weekend taproom for you to visit.

Big River Grille and Brewing Works: This is another Chattanooga restaurant staple that brews their own beer in house. Located right down the street from the Tennessee Aquarium, it’s in the prime location for a fun night on the town!

The Tap House and Empyreal Brewing Company: This brewing company is located in St. Elmo. They offer a full menu and lots of fun for your kiddos!

Tanasi Brewing and Supply: This company is a Veteran owned nano brewery, and the only homebrew supply store in Chattanooga! They also have a huge outdoor beer garden and enclosed dog park on site.

Monkey Town Brewing Company: Located in both Chattanooga and Dayton, TN, this brewery has lots of offers for locals!

Fountain Head Taproom: Located in the Southside neighborhood, you’re in control of 60 self-pour taps serving craft beer, wine, mead, cider, kombucha and more! Fountainhead Taproom was created to give you the best beverages available however you want it.

TailGate Brewery: Chattanooga is our fourth taproom, located in a historic building in the city’s Southside neighborhood. We opened in June of 2022 with 30 of our craft beers on draft, craft pizza kitchen, and a 7 barrel brewhouse cranking out Chattanooga-specific beers.

Whichever brewery you decide to visit this spring, be sure to do so responsibly!
