A Guide To Chattanooga Breweries

Spring is in the air, and Chattanooga is ready to show off its vast collection of breweries! While we are known as the Scenic City, we are also finding our place on the map for our homegrown brewing. Whether you’re looking for a good spot for date night, a family evening on the town, or a girls’ or guys’ night, Chattanooga has you covered when it comes to breweries.

Chattanooga Brewing Company: The oldest, and perhaps most famous, brewing company on our list, Chattanooga Brewing Company is known for its unique beer and yummy food. If you’re out of town and glance at a beer menu, I bet you’ll find Chattanooga’s own on the list! Located in West Village!

OddStory Brewing Company: This is a 21+ establishment, so save this spot for date night! Located on East MLK Blvd. as well as Central Avenue, they offer indoor and outdoor dining. Their open, community-style tables are great for large groups and studying students alike.

Naked River Brewing Company: This hot spot sits just on the other side of Finley Stadium from Chattanooga Brewing Company, so it’s another UTC favorite. They have a beautiful patio area to enjoy during the warmer months.

Wander Linger Brewing Company: Located in the heart of downtown, this spot is another great option for indoor and outdoor seating with a live music schedule. Read our full review here from a few years ago.

Mad Knight Brewing Company: This brewery is located in the historic St. Elmo neighborhood, just down the street from the Incline Railway. While their main focus is wholesale, they do have a taste room for you to enjoy!

Hutton and Smith Brewing Company: This brewery has an open taproom you can visit seven days a week! It is a 21+ establishment. You can choose to sit at their bar across from where the brews are being created or in an adjoining room with more seating and shuffleboard. I suggest eating before or after because bar snacks are the only food available.

Five Wits Brewing Company: This brewery has a large collection with a weekend taproom for you to visit.

The Tap House and Empyreal Brewing Company: This brewing company is located in St. Elmo. They offer a full menu and lots of fun for your kiddos!

Tanasi Brewing and Supply: This company is a Veteran owned nano brewery, and the only homebrew supply store in Chattanooga! They also have a huge outdoor beer garden and enclosed dog park on site.

Monkey Town Brewing Company: Located in both Chattanooga and Dayton, this brewery has many options to offer locals!

TailGate Brewery: Chattanooga is TailGate’s fourth taproom, located in a historic building in the city’s Southside neighborhood. They opened in June of 2022 with 30 craft beers on draft, craft pizza kitchen, and a seven-barrel brewhouse cranking out Chattanooga-specific beers.

Mean King Brewing: Chattanooga’s newest brewery is located in the East Brainerd area off of Jenkins Road. It is a great place to hang out, try their growing selection of craft beers, and play a little chess!

Whichever brewery you decide to visit this spring, be sure to do so responsibly!
