Immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the Smoky Mountains as you float down the Kaleidoscope Kavern Lazy River. The tunnel adds an extra layer of enchantment with kaleidoscope lighting and captivating sounds.

We were wowed by the new Kaleidoscope Lazy River. My kids loved all the bright colors and patterns, and how the scenes were continually changing. They didn’t want to get out and you don’t want to either as there are 9 different themes to enjoy!

*NEW RIDE* The Ridge Runner – Water Coaster Extravaganza

Brace yourself for a water coaster like no other: The Ridge Runner. With three steep drops, uphill blasts, and high speeds, it’s an indoor, three-story thrill that introduces the world’s first slide with Reverse AquaLucent effects.

The new Ridge Runner coaster was a fan-favorite with the kids (ranging from 13 to 6). This ride is thrilling and full of surprises at every turn. It is fast and has some big drops. All four said it was a speedy water ride!

A Relaxing Oasis: Unwind in the lap of luxury at the BRAND NEW Magnolia Grove Hot Spa. With 25 feet of benches inside and 45 feet outside, this indoor/outdoor hot spa is the perfect place to soothe your muscles after a day of excitement. It’s the epitome of relaxation amidst the mountain scenery.

This area is so fun! The kids enjoyed the warm water and had fun playing basketball in this renovated area.

The Wild WaterDome Extravaganza

The crown jewel of the Wilderness, the Wild WaterDome, is now even more thrilling with additions like the Storm Chaser, Trail Twisters Tube Slides, Runaway Canyon, and the brand-new Magnolia Grove Hot Spa. Get ready for a water-filled adventure like never before!

Storm Chaser Thrill Ride

For the thrill-seekers, the Storm Chaser is a must-try. Plunge 55 feet down a dark tunnel, experience a zero gravity fall into a funnel, and get ready for fast oscillations before splashing into the pool below. A scream-tastic adventure awaits!

The Great Wave Wave Pool

Dive into 10,000 square feet of rolling wave fun at The Great Wave wave pool. Whether you’re jumping in the waves or lounging on the “shore,” this ocean-like experience is suitable for all ages, with coast guard-approved life jackets available for added safety.

This wave pool is super impressive, and we’ve never experienced an indoor one! The waves were big and we had fun riding them!

Wilderness brings the beach to the mountains with the Smokies Surf Rider. Experience a five-foot ocean-like wave created by 19,000 gallons of water per minute. Brace yourself for an exhilarating adventure where every ride is a unique experience.

Trail Twisters Tube Slide

Grab a single or double tube and race down the dueling pipeline of twists and turns in the Trail Twisters Tube Slide. It’s an exciting water adventure that creates lasting photo memories as you watch your loved ones splash down in delight.

Runaway Canyon – Family Raft Ride

Embark on a five-story-high family raft ride with Runaway Canyon. Rocket through 450 feet of tunnels and explosive turns for a family memory that will linger long after the ride is over.

We love a good raft ride in my family, and this one didn’t disappoint! I was impressed by how long this ride actually is and we all had a blast.

Washout Mountain Water Play Feature

Open year-round, Washout Mountain is a multi-leveled water play feature located inside the Wild WaterDome. With two slides and plenty of spraying water features, it’s a surefire way to keep the kids entertained and cool.

My younger two thoroughly enjoyed this area and we couldn’t get them to leave!

During the winter season, Wilderness at the Smokies transforms into a festive wonderland, offering enchanting experiences that go beyond the water park. Families can lace up their skates and glide across the resort’s ice skating rinks (November 10th to January 15th), creating cherished memories amidst the picturesque mountain scenery. The joy of holiday festivities comes alive with The Wilderness’s Christmas celebrations, where the resort decks the halls with twinkling lights and festive decorations.

Ice skating was a blast for the whole family. Everyone, including the younger two, were able to make it around the rink. We were able to jump on right after they refreshed the ice, and even for me, the ice seemed super smooth. It was just getting dark when we started and all the fun lights added to the winter ambiance. You can also warm up at the “storm shelter” or grab a snack, a hot chocolate, or s’mores at the Tacolicious food truck.

Eighteen years ago, I moved to Knoxville after graduating college and fell in love with the city that has now truly become my home. Shortly after moving here, I married my college sweetheart, and when not working we set out to travel as much as we could. After working as a financial manager for six years, I welcomed my first son Nolan in 2010 and began a journey as a stay-at-home mom. Two years later we added another baby boy, Conley, to make us a family of four. In June 2016, we welcomed our third boy, Foster. I founded Knoxville Moms in November 2013 which began my career as a work-from-home mom, and it grew to the expansion of Chattanooga Moms in March 2016. We welcomed our first girl, Lilah, in November 2017 making us a family of six and adding a little pink in our house. In June of 2021, I became co-owner of Atlanta Mom and in March 2022 the new owner of Nashville Moms. When I'm not chasing the kids or stepping on Legos you can find me enjoying a cup of coffee, reading a good book, and dreaming about my toes in the sand. I enjoy meeting new people and love to connect the moms of Knoxville, Chattanooga, Atlanta, and Nashville.
