Anyone with a family of kids can sympathize: eating out with children can cause regret in the first five minutes. So often it is hard to find a restaurant that everyone can enjoy, that doesn’t take forever to deliver food and one which accommodates families well. Plus, the cost of family dining is just the icing on the cake.
With four growing and constantly hungry boys, who don’t enjoy taking an hour to eat a meal, we don’t find ourselves out at restaurants often. Because of this, it is a special event for them when we get the opportunity to eat out as a family.

The Kids’ Menu has many options to please even the pickiest eaters among your bunch. Ours all ordered different meals and no one complained about the food — it was just a little bit short of a miracle.
Our best tip for eating out with kids is to avoid the dinner crowd so that the wait time is shortened and your waiter is able to handle any special requests you might have in a timely manner. We were able to sit away from the more crowded areas and close to the bathroom, a great location when you have four kids who need to go at different times and who want to wiggle around a bit when waiting for food.
Taking the family out for a special night should be enjoyable and stress-free for all involved, and my husband and I enjoyed treating our kids to O’Charley’s, and thankful to the staff for accommodating families so well. At 30 weeks pregnant, I was excited for a week ahead of time to know that for one evening, I wouldn’t have to think about making, serving and cleaning up dinner!
