The sweet smell of breakfast, coffee roasting, the pop of a champagne bottle as it’s getting ready to be turned into a mimosa, the chatter of families, friends, and neighbors enjoying their sweet escape I call brunch.
Can you tell brunch is one of my favorite times to go eat?
Luckily for me, Ooltewah has a few really good brunch places to get my fix of my favorite meal of the day. So let me give you the inside details about some of my favorite places to go brunch in our small suburb of Chattanooga.
Neighbor – Breakfast & Lunch
The owners are seriously some of the coolest people you will meet in the restaurant business in Chattanooga. With Georgia’s creativity and her husband, Marcus’s, amazing skills in the kitchen, these two along with head chef, Wilbur Cox Jr., have shaken up the scene in Ooltewah giving residents a fresh taste on Southern style brunch. Not only do they serve up amazing dishes and drinks, but they have managed to create a work family that loves, respects, and helps give back to our community.

So you may be wondering, what do I eat with all of these amazing options they have on the menu? Well, while spending some time with Georgia and their staff, I thought I would ask straight at the source what is their favorite?
Georgia: The avocado toast topped with salmon is my absolute favorite.
Top Server Favorites: The Cuban Sandwich with sweet potato fries (also a new favorite of mine), the build your own breakfast skillet, and the chicken and waffles were all brought up by the staff as their and local favorites.
As for me, you can never go wrong with a hot cup of house coffee, a mimosa, and the shrimp and grits. So make sure and make the short drive to Neighbor – Breakfast and Lunch for brunch. I promise, you will not regret it!
1885 Grill, Ooltewah
For a bit of a Southern coastal escape, 1885 Grill in Ooltewah will not disappoint you with their weekend brunch menu. Owner, Miguel Morales, brings 16 years of restaurant experience and Southern cooking roots from his mother to the table on Saturday and Sunday mornings. At their restaurant they have created a relaxing, open atmosphere that includes a large outdoor patio to enjoy the sunshine while spending time with loved ones over brunch.

With dishes such as the NC Rainbow Trout Hash, Country Benedict, and Fried Chicken and Waffle, you cannot go wrong with anything on the menu. My personal favorite, the Bananas Foster Waffle is to die for (if I do say so myself). But do not just take my word for it. Reserve your table now for this weekend and check out their menu before you go.
