I missed many things during the time of COVID-19, and one of the things I missed the most was movies. Now that new movies are coming back to the big screen, summertime is the perfect time to watch your favorite stars underneath the stars! There are some great local options for outdoor movie viewing.
Chattanooga Outdoor Movies
Wilderness Theater is Chattanooga’s only outdoor movie theater. Located in Trenton, GA, this is a fun weekend spot for the whole family. With two big screens and a daily double feature, four movies are offered every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. One screen shows children’s movies while the other shows movies for the older crowd. Concessions are open on the grounds, and the gates open at 7:30pm, two hours before the movies begin.
Movies in the Park is another popular option located downtown. Coolidge Park hosts movies every Saturday night in July for families to enjoy. Bring a blanket or chair, and stop by Clumpie’s to get some ice cream before the show begins.
Sunset Cinema is another spot to see movies downtown. Located in Miller Park, this option has food trucks, games, and vendors. While there are no upcoming movies on their calendar at the moment, keep a lookout for updates.
Movies in the Streets is offered in downtown Chickamauga, GA. These movies are shown on the first Friday of the month in this quaint little town.
The East Ridge Library and Lafayette Library offer outdoor movies to their patrons. The libraries do require prior registration, so make sure you sign up if you plan on going.
